About

Olena Shved, 1975 – photographer from Kyiv, Ukraine. Her first vocation is medicine - vascular surgery. Became interested in photography since 2018. Has studied at Ukrainian photo-schools. She is a member of Ukrainian Women Photographers Organization, MYPH collective. The author’s work has been influenced by the experience of working in surgical clinics. She explores the theme of border between life and death, reflecting on such concepts as pain, fear, the fragility of human life as well as medical burnout syndrome.
